She's In Kindergarten!!!
August 24, 2009 – Aubri’s 1st day of Kindergarten! Can you believe it, folks?! This is elementary school we’re talking about here!! No more messin’ around...this is the real deal!
Aubri got to meet her teacher, Mrs. Hooper-Torbet (kind of a mouthful for most 5-year-olds), last Thursday. She seems really sweet. And Aubri has already said that she likes her hair, which was also her favorite quality about one of last year’s preschool teachers, Mrs. Noell.
Today was her first actual day of school. I wasn’t completely sure what to expect, from me that is, I knew exactly what to expect from Aubri – she, of course, embraced this new uncharted terrain with Aubri-like gusto and enthusiasm. And I managed to follow her lead and stay the course. There were no tears. The need to mourn the passing of one life stage was completely eclipsed by Aubri’s excitement for the coming of this new, yet-to-be-discovered stage.
